Pet of The Week: Goldie Is A Shy Girl Looking For A Best Friend
Goldie's perfect day would be sleeping in, a long walk, a nap on the couch, some romps in the backyard, and some snuggling on the couch.
ARLINGTON, VA — Meet Goldie, a 1-year-old spayed female mixed breed.
Here's what Goldie's foster family told the Animal Welfare League of Arlington:
"Goldie is a sweet and energetic pup who is a bit shy at first, but once she warms up she'll be your best friend. Inside, she loves belly rubs and lounging with her favorite person, but once outside, she's like Sherlock Holmes on a case, sniffing out a trail of clues through the neighborhood and trying to make friends with every squirrel she sees."

If Goldie was an ice cream flavor, she would be: French Vanilla because she loves giving sloppy kisses.
Important facts about Goldie: We learned that Goldie was left outside in her previous home and was not given much attention. She is making great progress with house training but doesn't love small, enclosed rooms or crates. She would do best in a home with adults or older children who can give her the time and space she needs. Goldie is very food-motivated and loves learning new things! Goldie has not yet met children or cats while in our care.
