Police: Arlington Man Hit Nephew in Head with Baseball Bat

A 53-year-old Arlington man is accused of hitting his nephew in the head with a baseball bat after an argument this week, according to information police released Wednesday.

The two were arguing shortly after 11:30 a.m. Monday in the 3500 block of South 16th Street. Police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck did not know what the argument was about.

A neighbor called police. The uncle remained on the scene and surrendered to officers peacefully, Sternbeck said.

Michael Knight, 53, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with unlawful wounding. He was held without bond.

The nephew, a young adult, suffered a large cut on his head and was taken to Fairfax Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Sternbeck said.
