Police Charge MD Woman Who Claimed Shots Were Fired At Her
Arlington County Police arrested a Maryland woman early Monday after she falsely claimed another vehicle was shooting at her.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested a Maryland woman early Monday morning, after she claimed someone was chasing her vehicle and firing a gun at her, according to the daily crime report.
Officers were dispatched around 2:07 a.m., for the report of a person with a gun in the area of Arlington Boulevard at N. Fillmore Street. A woman had reported to police that her vehicle was being chased and shot at by another vehicle. The officers spotted two vehicles and began a pursuit. They eventually made contact with the occupants of the two vehicles.
An investigation revealed that the woman who had called for assistance had been involved in a hit and run in Washington, D.C., according to police. The driver told the officers they followed the woman into Arlington in order to obtain her contact information and to exchange information. Police reported that no weapons were found and no shots were fired.

Police charged Tasia Montiel, 25, of Fort Washington, Maryland, with driving under the influence, refusal of breath/blood test, obstruction of justice, and misuse of 911. She is being held on an unsecured bond.
