UPDATE: $20K Reward Offered For Information On Missing Woman
The Fairfax County Police Department has uncovered evidence suggesting a missing 72-year-old woman may have been harmed inside her home.

LORTON, VA — The Fairfax County Police Department said Tuesday that a $20,000 reward is now being offered through Crime Solvers for information related to the disappearance of a 72-year-old Lorton woman.
The department has uncovered evidence suggesting Emily Lu may have been harmed inside her home. Fairfax County detectives have been speaking with Lu’s current and previous tenants at her home in Lorton, the police said Tuesday.
At a news conference Tuesday, Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said the department's homicide unit is now investigating Lu's disappearance. He noted that detectives did not find evidence of forced entry at her home.

A family member contacted officers that afternoon and provided an address in Belle Haven that Lu visits often. Officers checked the home but did not find her.
“While searching Lu’s home, detectives uncovered evidence suggesting she may have been harmed inside,” the department said Monday. “Based on these preliminary investigative findings, her absence from work and the unusual lack of response to family members, detectives believe she is missing under suspicious circumstances.”
Fairfax County police said Lu was last seen at the Aldi grocery store at 1329 Gordon Plaza in Woodbridge around 7:50 p.m. on June 3. Lu arrived home from the grocery store but did not bring inside all of her groceries.
The department provided video footage of Lu's visit to Aldi on June 3.
“Our Major Crimes detectives are working tirelessly to determine what led up to Mrs. Lu’s disappearance," Fairfax County Police Major Ed O’Carroll, bureau commander of Major Crimes, Cyber and Forensics, said Monday in a statement. "They continue to work closely with officers from our Search and Rescue and detectives from our Crime Scene and Cyber and Forensics team."
At Tuesday's news conference, Davis was joined by O'Carroll along with Lu's daughter and her two sisters and brother.
"We're extremely worried about her," Lu's only daughter, Jenny, said at the news conference.
