Rooftop Fire Temporarily Closes Ambar In Clarendon
Ambar, the popular Balkan restaurant in Clarendon, was temporarily closed after a fire broke out on the rooftop Sunday afternoon.

(Updated at 2:57 p.m. Monday): ARLINGTON, VA — Ambar, the popular Balkan restaurant in Clarendon, was temporarily closed after a fire broke out on the rooftop Sunday afternoon.
Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the roof of the restaurant at 2901 Wilson Blvd. at around 12:30 p.m.
The Arlington Fire Department said the fire appeared to be inside an air handler on the roof. There were minor smoke conditions inside the restaurant.

In a statement posted to Facebook, the restaurant said they hope to reopen midweek. There was no damage to the restaurant's interior.
Thankfully, the inspectors came by Monday and gave Ambar the green-light to reopen.

"We appreciate everyones support, and are grateful that we were able to reopen quickly," the restaurant said.
