Stellina Pizzeria and Market Coming To Village At Shirlington
An offshoot of a D.C. favorite is bringing fast-casual pizza, pastas, sauces, and pizza dough to Shirlington in time for Valentine's Day.
ARLINGTON, VA — Just in time for Valentine's Day, D.C. restauranteur Antonio Matarazzo and Chef Matteo Venini will be opening the Stellina Pizzeria and Market in the Village at Shirlington. The 2,000-square-foot restaurant will offer fast-casual pizza, pastas, sauces, and pizza dough.
The Shirlington location joins Stellina's two other D.C. locations on K Street and in the Union Market District. The Arlington restaurant located at 2800 S. Randolph St. will officially open for business on Feb. 12.
“With our expansion into Northern Virginia, we want to bring the Stellina experience to our guests in the region, while also being mindful of their specific needs and preferences,” Matarazzo said, in a release. “Knowing the South Arlington community as a resident here with my family, I thought that a retail element for prepared foods and ingredients to cook at home would be a nice addition to our curbside pick-up, delivery, and outdoor dining offerings. As Stellina continues to grow across the DMV, we’ll keep an eye toward adapting the concept and menu to enhance and best serve the neighborhoods we join.”

Initially, the restaurant will only be open for outdoor dining in a heated, 20-seat patio.
With a focus on neo-Neapolitan pizzas, Italian street food, pizza dough panini, homemade pastas, and classic Italian desserts, the Shirlington menu is similar to the one offered at Stellina's Union Market location.

What's different at the new location is a deli counter offering fresh pastas by the pound, homemade sauces, pizza dough, cured meats, cheeses, olives, and other antipasti. Diners can also purchase desserts like panna cotta and tiramisu. Those looking to cook at home can purchase olive oil, balsamic vinegar, dried pasta, and ready-to-cook lasagne and pizza.
Unlike its D.C. relatives, Stellina Shirlington does not have a bar. Instead, cocktails are batched and bottled and can be served table side over ice.
