Suspect Jumps Into Victims' Car While Talking To Them: ACPD
Police are looking for a suspect who fled after an attempted robbery near Clarendon over the weekend.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man got into someone else's vehicle and tried to steal things while trying to engage the victims in conversation near Clarendon over the weekend, police say.
Police were called to the 2700 block of Wilson Boulevard at around 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 28 to a report of a robbery, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.
"[T]he male suspect approached the victim’s near their vehicle and attempted to engage them in conversation before entering their vehicle," the report states. "One victim confronted the suspect, who then threatened them, before attempting to steal a purse from the vehicle and flee. With the assistance of two bystanders, the suspect was stopped and the purse was recovered."

They chased the suspect away before police arrived, the report states.
Police described the suspect as "a light skinned black male, 5’10”-6’2”, 165-185 lbs., wearing a plaid shirt, dark pants, a hat and carrying a backpack."
