Washington Capitals Hockey Team Issues Fraud Alert for Playoff Tickets

Hockey team officials warn fans to be careful purchasing tickets to playoff games. The team practices in Arlington.

Due to a substantial increase in fraudulent ticket activity during the first round of the NHL Playoffs, the Washington Capitals hockey team has issued a fraud alert prior to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, warning all fans of the risk of purchasing seats from an unauthorized third party.

The Caps beat the New York Rangers 2-1 Thursday night at the Stanley Cup Playoffs at Madison Square Garden. The Caps won the game by making a goal with 1.3 seconds on the clock.

They’ll face the Ranger again on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. You can view the game on NBC, Sportsnet or TVA Sports.

Capitals fans are encouraged to make their ticket purchases directly from the team at WashingtonCaps.com or by calling 202.397-SEAT. Only tickets purchased through the team are guaranteed to be valid, according to the Caps. Fans can also purchase tickets through any Ticketmaster sales channel.
