What's Open, Closed For 4th Of July 2021 In Arlington
Many Arlington County government offices and services will be operating on modified schedules in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

ARLINGTON, VA — With COVID-19 metrics improved from earlier in 2021, many 4th of July celebrations will be returning. Some services around Arlington County are closed or modified for the federal holiday on Sunday, July 4 and Monday, July 5.
People hoping to watch the Washington, D.C. fireworks display from Virginia will find some roads along the Potomac River closed to traffic and temporary parking restrictions in place starting Sunday afternoon.

All Arlington County government offices and services will be operating on modified schedules on July 4 and 5.
Courts: Circuit Court, General District Court, Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court are closed on on July 4 and 5.

Metered Parking will not be enforced on July 4 and 5.
DMV & DMV Select: All DMV offices are closed on July 5. Visit DMV's Online Services to access many available.
Human Services: Open (Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services, and Mental Health Emergency Services open 24/7/365)
Libraries: Closed on July 4 and 5.
Parks & Recreation Facilities & Programs: On July 4 and 5, administrative offices and centers are closed; Classes/leagues and parks and outdoor amenities will be open with restrictions.
Permitting and Inspection Services: Permit Office is closed on July 4 and 5. No building or trade inspections will take place. Online permitting is available. System is available for customer use and application submissions.
Public Schools: Closed.
Sheriff's Office: Administrative Offices closed July 4 and 5.
Swimming Pools: For openings, see pool schedule.
Trash/Recycling/Yard Waste and Special Collections: Normal schedule for July 5; Customer Contact Center is closed on July 5; No mulch deliver on July 5; Household Hazards/Electronics Drop-off Facility and Earth Products Drop-Off Yard are closed July 3-5.
Treasurer's Office: Closed July 5, but CAPP available for online payments.
- ART – July 4 and 5: ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55, 77 and 87 will operate regular Sunday schedules. All other ART routes and the Customer Call Center will be closed on July 4 and 5.
- STAR – July 5: The STAR Call Center will be closed and standing order rides, except for dialysis, will be canceled. Please call before the holiday to request a trip for July 4,5, and 6.
- Metro: On Sunday, July 4, Metrorail will operate from 8 a.m.-11 p.m. During the day, trains will operated on regular weekend schedules until 4 p.m., at which time service will ramp up to rush hour service levels before and after the fireworks.
