What's Open, Closed For Labor Day 2020 In Arlington
As the unofficial end of summer approaches, here are the service changes to know for the Labor Day holiday.
ARLINGTON, VA — Summer may have looked different this year because of the pandemic, but Labor Day is still the time to bid the season farewell before pools close and kids start classes. In Arlington, there are various closings and schedule changes to know for the holiday
On Monday, Sept. 7, all Arlington County government offices, courts, libraries, and facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Below are the schedule changes to know for the Labor Day holiday around Arlington:

- Trash and Recycling will operate as normal on Monday.
- Metered Parking will not be enforced on Monday.
- DMV & DMV Select: All DMV offices are closed. Visit DMV's Online Services to access many available transactions.
- Human Services: Closed (Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services, and Mental Health Emergency Services open 24/7/365)
- Parks & Recreation Facilities & Programs: Administrative offices, centers, classes and leagues will be closed. Parks and outdoor amenities will be open with some restrictions.
- Permitting and Inspection Services: Permit Office is closed. No building or trade inspections will take place. Online permitting is available. System is available for customer use and application submissions, but processing and technical support will resume Tuesday, Sept. 8.
- Public Schools: Closed.
- Sheriff's Office: Administrative offices closed on Sept. 7. In-person personal visits at the ACDF are suspended due to the pandemic until further notice.
- Swimming Pools: For openings, see pool schedule.
- Treasurer's Office: Closed July 3, but CAPP available for online payments.
Transportation
- ART – Sept. 7: ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55 and 87 will operate on Sunday schedules. All other ART routes will not operate and the ART customer call center will be closed. July 4: ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55, 77 and 87 will operate Saturday schedules. All other ART routes will not operate.
- STAR – The Call Center will be closed Sept. 5-7. To book STAR trips on those days, please contact the Call Center no later than Friday, Sept. 4.
- Metrorail operates on a Sunday schedule on Monday, Sept. 7. It will be open from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m.
- Metrobus operates on a Sunday schedule on Monday, Sept. 7. Visit www.wmata.com for more details on specific routes.
