ARLINGTON, VA — As Memorial Day approaches, families will celebrate the unofficial start of summer. That means backyard cookouts, vacations, or simply enjoying the three-day weekend.
Some services around Arlington County are closed or modified for the federal holiday on Monday, May 31.

All Arlington County government offices, libraries, and facilities will be closed on Monday, May 31.
Courts: Circuit Court, General District Court, Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court are closed on Monday, May 1.

Trash/Recycling/Yard Waste and Special Collections: Normal schedule for May 31.; Customer Contact Center is closed, May 31; No mulch deliver on May 31; Household Hazards/Electronics Drop-off Facility is one on May 29 and closed May 31. Earth Products Drop-Off Yard is closed May 29-31.
Metered Parking will not be enforced on Monday.
DMV & DMV Select: All DMV offices are closed on Monday. Visit DMV's Online Services to access many available.
Human Services: Open (Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services, and Mental Health Emergency Services open 24/7/365)
Parks & Recreation Facilities & Programs: Administrative offices and centers are closed on Monday; Classes/leagues and parks and outdoor amenities will be open with restrictions.

Permitting and Inspection Services: Permit Office is closed on May 31. No building or trade inspections will take place. Online permitting is available. System is available for customer use and application submissions.
Public Schools: Closed.
Sheriff's Office: Administrative Offices closed Monday, May 31.
Swimming Pools: For openings, see pool schedule.
Treasurer's Office: Closed Monday, May 31, but CAPP available for online payments.
Transportation
ART – May 31: ART 41, 42, 45, 51, 55, 77 and 87 will operate regular Sunday schedules. All other ART routes will not operate and the Customer Call Center will be closed.
STAR –May 31: The STAR Call Center will be closed and standing order rides, except for dialysis, will be canceled. Please call before the holiday to request a trip for May 31 or the day after.
Metro: Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule on May 31. For more information, visit www.wmata.com.
