Who's A Pretty Pet? Enter Yours In AWLA's Calendar Contest

ARLINGTON, VA — Is your dog, cat, or even iguana calendar-worthy? Do you think your pet goldfish would be the perfect pinup for the month of May? If so, then snap a photo and enter it in the Animal Welfare Welfare League of Arlington's annual Calendar Contest Fundraiser.

AWLA is looking for photos of Arlington's favorite animals to grace its 2021-2022, 16-month calendar (September 2021-December 2022). Submissions not only spotlight the beautiful creatures that reside in Arlington County, they also help support AWLA's mission of improving the lives of pets and wild animals in the community.

Members of the community are invited to vote for their favorite pet. The 15 pets that garner the most votes will receive a month-long feature on the AWLA website. The pet chosen as the AWLA staff favorite pick will appear on the December 2022 calendar. These 16 pets will also receive a complimentary calendar.

The pet that amasses the most votes will be named the Grand Prize winner and will receive a photo shoot with Mike Leonard Photo. In addition, they will appear on the cover of the calendar and have a full-page article written about them on the inside cover. The pet will also be spotlighted in AWLA's social media and receive a complimentary calendar with a special AWLA delivery.

To submit your pet for the Calendar Contest Fundraiser or to vote for your favorite entry, visit the AWLA website from April 1-15. Each entry costs $10 and the money will go to support the services AWLA provides to the community.

The entry fee does not include a free calendar, although calendars may be ordered on the website through April 22. There will be no calendars available after that date, so be sure to purchase yours when you cast your vote or submit your pet's photo. Calendars are also available to purchase without submitting a pet photo or casting a vote.
