Woman Charged With Assault Against Police At Pentagon City Store
Arlington County Police arrested a woman who struck an officer while she was being arrested for disorderly conduct at a Pentagon City store.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police charged a woman with assault and battery Thursday afternoon for striking a police officer as she was being arrested for acting disorderly in a Pentagon City store, according the daily crime report.
An officer responded around 1:45 p.m., for the report of a woman acting disorderly at a business in the 1400 block of S. Hayes St. The person who called in the report told the police dispatcher that the suspect was inside the business, opening merchandise, threatening staff, and refusing to leave. She also threatened the store's employees by saying she had a weapon.
Arriving on the scene, the officer found the woman who was causing the disturbance. She refused to follow the officer's commands and said there was a firearm in her pocket. As the officer attempted to take the woman into custody, she resisted and struck the officer repeatedly. After a brief scuffle, the officer was able to take the woman into custody.

Police charged Laresha Reed, 40, of no fixed address, with assault and battery on a police officer, obstruction of justice, and disorderly conduct.
