$94K Raised for Family of Baby Killed in Lansdowne Crash
More than $94K has been raised for medical and funeral costs for the Lansdowne family who lost their 5-month-old baby in a crash.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — More than 94K* has been raised by 2,132 people by Wednesday afternoon — two weeks after the family lost their 5-month-old baby in a crash on Wednesday, Aug. 31, according to GoFundMe. The crash took the life of Tristan Schulz, a 5-month-old boy, and seriously injured the child’s mother.
On Aug. 31 at 8:30 a.m., Mindy Shulz was pushing Tristan in a stroller. The two were crossing Riverside Parkway from Coton Manor Drive towards Kipheart Drive.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), preliminary investigation indicates that Shulz was walking with the baby in a stroller in the marked crosswalk when they were struck by a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by an adult male driver.

"Mindy is being treated for her injuries and is expected to remain in the hospital for several days but unfortunately Tristan did not make it and as anyone can imagine, they are completely shocked, heartbroken, and have a long road ahead of them," according to Lindsey Reckert Saylor, who created the GoFundMe on Sept. 1.
"Please, if you can, donate anything you can to help them with medical expenses as well as funeral costs. No parent should EVER have to bury their child! Please keep Mindy, Rod, and Hayden in your prayers," Saylor added.
