LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA—OK, all you Star Wars fans of a certain age (and by that, we mean legal drinking age). Here's a perfect opportunity to party with like-minded folks, and do so in a public library, no less. We're talking about Star Wars Night, 7-10 p.m. Saturday, July 20, in Leesburg's Rust Library at 380 Waterford Road NW.

Open to those 21 and older, the free event will offer beer, wine and hard cider from Delirium Café, Casanel Vineyards and Wild Hare Hard Cider, as well as fare from Grubbers Food Truck and Blue City Food Truck. Supplying tunes will be the Mos Eisley Cantina band.

Among the activities: cosplay, trivia, a costume contest and maker demonstrations. Attendees can reenact the Battle of Endor in a laser-tag session, peruse galactic artwork from more than 35 vendors along Artists Alley and use the Force to outwit a trash compactor Escape Room, say organizers.

Says Jessica Moore, an Adult Services Librarian at Gum Spring Library and the organizer of Star Wars Night, in a release: "People sometimes assume that libraries only have programs for kids, and that's not the case at all. If you haven't been to one in a while, this is a really fun way to see what a modern library is all about."

Here's more information, per LCPL:

Star Wars Night is LCPL’s fourth summertime after-hours event exclusively for adults, and follows up on the hugely popular Harry Potter Night and last year’s Game of Thrones Night, which drew roughly 800 attendees.
“We were thrilled with the success of the previous two events,” added Moore. “But make no mistake, we’ve definitely upped the ante for Star Wars Night.”
Other featured highlights are the Saber Light Knights, a Virginia-based swordplay and martial arts group, which will hold a lightsaber combat demonstration at 7:30 p.m. followed by one-on-one instruction.
At 8 p.m., attendees can witness the Super Art Fight throw-down, which pits regional illustrators against one another in a live art competition, mixing elements of pro-wrestling styled storytelling, character work and improvised humor.
Hosts of the podcast “Beltway Banthas,” Stephen Kent and Swara Salih, will lead a discussion at 8:30 p.m. exploring the intersection of politics and Star Wars.
To help attendees get around on Star Wars Night, Loudoun County Public Library will provide free shuttle service to Rust Library from the Loudoun County Government Center Parking Garage (146 Loudoun St. SE, Leesburg). Shuttles will run continuously from 6:30-10:30 p.m.
