An alleged DUI driver struck a Loudoun County Sheriff's Office cruiser head-on on New Year's Day at 3 a.m.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — An alleged DUI driver struck a Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) cruiser head-on on New Year's Day at about 3 a.m., according to the LCSO.
A deputy was traveling on W. Church Road near North York Road in Sterling, Va. when the driver crashed into the cruiser.
The suspect was driving in the wrong lane of travel, according to the LCSO.

Deputies identified the driver as Simerjeet S. Sidhu, 27, of Sterling, Va.
Sidhu was arrested and charged with Driving under the Influence of Alcohol.

He was released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a personal recognizance bond, according to the LCSO.
