Alleged Vehicle Thief Escapes Police Chase: LCSO
A police helicopter assisted with the chase of a stolen vehicle from Ashburn. After a crash the driver fled the vehicle and escaped capture.

ASHBURN, VA — The driver of a vehicle stolen in Ashburn escaped after being pursued by Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) deputies with assistance from the Fairfax County Police Department Helicopter, according to the LCSO.
Deputies say a 2006 Honda Pilot was reported stolen from the area of a reported burglary on Lord Fairfax Place on Nov.6 at 5:07 a.m.
A deputy responding to the area observed the driver of a vehicle disregard a stop sign and travel at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle was confirmed to be the stolen Honda Pilot and the deputy initiated a traffic stop.
The driver continued to travel without stopping.

In the area of W. Poplar Road, the driver fled from the vehicle as the vehicle was still in motion.
The vehicle struck a parked vehicle located at a residence on W. Poplar Road.
The suspect was not located after a search of the area with assistance from the Fairfax County Police Department Helicopter, according to the LCSO.
