American Idol: Brandon Diaz Bound For Hollywood UPDATED
A proud graduate of Briar Woods High School was among the featured contestants on Monday night's "American Idol." He fare quite well, too.

ASHBURN, VA—Now that Ashburn's very own Brandon Diaz, he the alumnus of Briar Woods High School, has punched his golden ticket to Hollywood to compete in the high-profile rounds of ABC's "American Idol, the next question is easy. Namely, what will he do to top what he did Monday night.
Namely, according to Loudoun Now, Diaz sang "Unaware," by Allen Stone. The judges—Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan—liked it a lot. Richie and Bryan said he had a "very clean" falsetto, and Perry said he was "the best male singer we’ve seen so far." Diaz and his fans lapped it up on his Twitter page.
The show runs Sundays and Mondays (WJLA, Channel 7, 8-10 p.m.), and is the once-mammoth ratings grabber that has been retooled after a long run on FOX from 2002-15. According to Variety, Idol lost the head-to-head ratings battle Monday night against NBC's "The Voice."
