Artificial Intelligence Company Plans Headquarters In Loudoun

Zasti, an artificial intelligence company that offers healthcare solutions, will establish a new headquarters in Loudoun County.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — An artificial intelligence company will build a headquarters in Loudoun County, according to a news release from Gov. Ralph Northam. The company, Zasti, will invest $5.9 million in the county and will create 60 new jobs.

Zasti develops healthcare solutions regarding predictive analytics, risk screening, and climate change. The new Loudoun County facility will develop and maintain Zasti's different AI platforms and IT systems, the news release said.

Brian Ball is Virginia's secretary of commerce and trade. "Artificial intelligence-powered health tools are becoming more prevalent because of innovative companies like Zasti," Ball said. "Zasti’s suite of AI products is making a difference in preventive care and diagnostics to improve overall health outcomes."

Loudoun County and Virginia's Economic Development Partnership worked together to bring Zasti's headquarters to the area. Maryland was also competing to host the facility, the news release said.

"Virginia represents a confluence of values given its workforce diversity, commitment to the environment, and a strong academic research setting," Zasti's CEO Krish R. Krishnan said. "It is a great place for a transformative vision-driven business like ours to thrive."

Zasti, which is named after the Sanskrit word for "Prediction," was founded in 2017 and spent its first three years honing its artificial intelligence technologies in the United Kingdom and India. Now, the company has moved to the United States and looks to help underserved communities and decarbonize the healthcare industry.

"This is another great step for economic diversity in Northern Virginia and further evidence of the importance of our international business development efforts," said Buddy Rizer, the executive director for Loudoun Economic Development. "At a time when many international firms have paused their site selection searches overseas, we appreciate the confidence that Zasti has in a bright #LoudounPossible future."

Delegate David Reid represents Loudoun County's 32nd district in the Virginia House of Delegates. "It’s exciting that a global company has established its U.S. roots right here in the 32nd District," he said. "Bringing jobs to Loudoun means fueling our economy and creating lasting economic development that strengthens our community."
