Ashburn Fire And Rescue Open House This Weekend
This weekend's annual spring open house at the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station 6 will truly be a family affair.

ASHBURN, VA—If you'e ever been to a children's birthday party that happens to be held at a local fire station, you might have noticed that the adults often are every bit as mesmerized by the figurative and literal bells and whistles as the kids. So consider this weekend's annual spring open house at the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station 6 truly a family affair.
Set for noon-3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at 20688 Ashburn Road, the session will allow kids to practice calling 911, learn about water safety and "test their first aid skills as the Booboo Station." But attendees also can watch firefighters perform agility tests, respond to a staged medical emergency and rescue someone from a simulated car wreck with the "jaws of life."
Not to forget, of course, there's the chance to check out those big shiny fire and rescue vehicles.
