Firefighters say that fire and rescue units were dispatched to the house fire at about 6 a.m. on Nov. 22. A passerby had called 9-1-1 to report flames coming from the home.

Firefighters from Leesburg, Kincora, Moorefield, Lansdowne, Ashburn, Cascades, Hamilton and Fairfax County responded to find an unoccupied, two-story, single family home with extensive fire and smoke issuing from the structure.

Crews initiated a defensive fire attack from outside the home because of the advanced state of the fire and deteriorated conditions inside the home. A significant collapse of the structure made any interior entry unsafe for firefighters.

The fire was extinguished approximately twenty minutes after initial fire and rescue crews arrived although they remained on scene for two hours extinguishing hot spots and assisting the Fire Marshal’s Office.

No injuries to fire and rescue personnel occurred and the damage estimates have been set at $285,000, according to the Fire Marshal's Office.
