In Virginia, the average listing price of a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home is $317,336--and in Ashburn it is $559,750, according to the report.

The least expensive homes in Virginia are found in Danville, according to the study, with an average $144,836 home price.

In Maryland, 5 areas cost more than Ashburn, with Bethesda at the top of the list with its average home costing $782,300.

Nationwide, Ashburn is 242nd on the list of most expensive homes, with Newport Beach, CA at the top spot--with an average home costing $2,291,764.

The lowest priced homes of the 2,722 areas on the list can be found in Cleveland, OH, where the average four-bedroom, two-bathroom home costs $74,502.
