Ashburn Restaurant Inspections: Violations At 7 Locations
The Loudoun County Health Department found several violations during recent restaurant inspections in Sterling, Dulles, and Ashburn.
ASHBURN, VA — Officials from the Loudoun County Health Department inspected multiple restaurants across the Ashburn area from June 17 to June 22, including a number of restaurants in Dulles and Sterling.
As coronavirus restrictions continue to loosen around the state, health inspectors are returning to conduct restaurant inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.
Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department also performs a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

For every observed violation, the inspector provides a specific corrective action that can be completed to rectify the violation. Sometimes these are simple, and violations can be corrected during the course of the inspection.

- There is standing water on the floor near the ice machine and walk in cooler door. One of the pipes under the ice machine was located as to drain onto the floor.

- EHS observed cut melon, beef tongue (cooked), and mixed rice without date labels.
- Multiple containers of spray paint, medicine, batteries, and cleaning chemicals were found stored among dry goods/food storage.
- Packages of soft cheese that are portioned/prepared by the facility for sale to the public at the front counter are not labeled.
- EHS observed personal food items stored on the line along with food items intended for the public.
- EHS observed a wet wiping cloth on the line used for wiping the prep surface being help between uses outside of a sanitizing concentrate.
