Ashburn School Goes On Lockdown After Man With Hammer Enters
Loudoun Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Thursday afternoon who unlawfully entered Stone Hill Middle School in Ashburn with a hammer.

ASHBURN, VA — Loudoun County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Thursday afternoon who unlawfully entered Stone Hill Middle School in Ashburn with a hammer, the sheriff's office said Thursday. The sheriff's department received a call around 12:15 p.m. about the man.
School officials immediately placed the school in lockdown. Deputies found the man in an empty classroom. He was taken into custody without incident.
The school was occupied by staff and a small group of students. The man had no contact with any of the students and there were no injuries reported, according to the sheriff's office.

Prior to the call at Stone Hill Middle School, deputies were investigating a call in the 23000 block of Cypress Glen Square in Ashburn about a suspicious male carrying a hammer trying to make entry into a residence.
The sheriff's office said its investigations into the incidents are ongoing and that more information will be released when available.
