Broad Run Spartans Take Early Lead Friday Against Briar Woods

Abigail Neff was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Thursday, driving in four on three hits to lead the Broad Run Spartans Varsity past Briar Woods 16-4 on Thursday. Neff drove in runs on a single in the first, a walk in the fourth, and a single in the fifth.

Broad Run got things started in the first inning. Libby Griffis drove in one when she doubled.

Katrina Potak led Broad Run to victory on the pitcher's mound. She went four innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out five. Sara Kelly threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Broad Run had 11 hits in the game. Neff, Kelly, and Erin Cassidy each collected multiple hits for Broad Run. Neff led Broad Run with three hits in three at bats.

Caroline Bird went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Briar Woods in hits.
