Broad Run Varsity Softball Defeats Stone Bridge 3-2

Neff's Walkoff Picture Perfect Ending In Broad Run Spartans Varsity's Victory Over Stone Bridge

Broad Run Spartans Varsity Softball defeated Stone Bridge 3-2 on Monday thanks to a walk-off single. The game was tied at two with Broad Run batting in the bottom of the ninth when Abigail Neff singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Stone Bridge got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run for Stone Bridge.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Broad Run Spartans Varsity tied things up at two. Lauren Mizelle tripled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

After Stone Bridge scored one run in the top of the fifth, Broad Run answered with one of their own. Stone Bridge scored when Allison Kreyer doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Broad Run then answered when Libby Griffis grounded out, scoring one run.

Kelly earned the victory in the circle for Broad Run, allowing 11 hits and two runs over nine innings, striking out two.

Sappington took the loss for Stone Bridge. She surrendered three runs on eight hits over eight innings, striking out 15.

Broad Run racked up eight hits. Neff and Casey Kramer each collected two hits to lead Broad Run.

Stone Bridge racked up 11 hits in the game. Lauren Fox, Kreyer, and Maddy Carpe all managed multiple hits for Stone Bridge. Fox led Stone Bridge with three hits in five at bats.
