Building Projects Awarded for Preserving Loudoun's Natural Resources
Local building projects and building professionals were recognized by the Loudoun County government for preserving natural resources.

Local building projects and building professionals were recognized by the Loudoun County government for achieving the highest standards of performance for the preservation of the county’s natural resources through erosion and sediment control, according to a Loudoun County Government announcement.
The winners of the 2015 Loudoun County Environmental Preservation Awards are:

- Van Metre Companies for the Estates at Overlook Ridge (Award accepted by Brian Davidson, Executive Vice President of Construction; Candy McCracken, Vice President of Operations; Derek Didonato, Director of Engineering; and Tom Marable, Vice President of Land Acquisition)
- Chris Sorensen, Van Metre Companies for the Estates at Overlook Ridge
- Dennis McIlwee, Total Development Solutions, L.L.C. for the Brambleton Community
- Paul Duffy, Total Development Solutions, L.L.C. for the Brambleton Community
The Estates at Overlook Ridge project was cited for its preservation of mature trees throughout the site. The individual awards were presented to people in the field who have maintained outstanding erosion and sediment controls on their projects to protect sensitive environmental areas.
The awards program is administered by the Loudoun County Department of Building & Development. The program encourages nominations from individuals, industry representatives and county staff to recognize projects for using the best management practices for erosion and sediment control throughout the duration of the construction project, according to a Loudoun County Government announcement.
