Burglary Suspects Arrested In Sterling: Police

Two men are charged in connection with two burglaries in Sterling and Ashburn on Tuesday morning, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Two men are in custody and charged in connection with a series of burglaries throughout Sterling and Ashburn on Tuesday morning, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The men, Zakariah Sudi and Kevin Valle, are also under investigation in connection with burglaries throughout the western portions of the county.

Around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, Loudoun County deputies responded to the Sterling Smoke and Vape Store. A burglary was reported at the store in the 22400 block of Enterprise Street in Sterling.

When deputies arrived, they noted that the story "had been forcibly entered," according to a police report. Authorities said that a cash drawer was taken from the business.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office began to search the area for suspects. The Fairfax County Police Department's helicopter assisted in the search, police said.

Loudoun County deputies continued their search throughout the morning, and discovered that another business had been burglarized. Authorities said that the Delhi Bazaar on Ice Rink Plaza was broken into and cash was taken.

Around 10:30 a.m., authorities said they located a suspect while canvassing the Sterling area. The suspect attempted to flee on foot and was chased down by deputies, according to the police report.

A second suspect was also located and arrested while deputies were searching the area.

Zakariah Sudi is charged with burglary, destruction of property, possession of a stolen firearm, and obstruction of justice. Kevin Valle is charged with burglary, destruction of property, possession of a stolen firearm, and providing false identification to law enforcement. The sheriff's office said additional charges are pending.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating whether Tuesday's burglaries are related to break-ins that occurred at businesses in Leesburg, Purcellville, and Hamilton over the weekend.

They are also working with other law enforcement agencies in the area who are investigating similar burglaries.
