Chesterbrook Academy Celebrates Earth Day with Ladybug Release
Students celebrated Earth Day by releasing 1,500 ladybugs in their schoolyard to help local vegetation
Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool Brambleton on Cotton Grass Way in Ashburn have been buzzing with excitement for Earth Day! On April 22, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing 1,500 ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees.
Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Chesterbrook Academy teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
