Chesterbrook Academy Preschool Students Donate 220 Pounds of Food
Students held a food drive for Loudoun Hunger Relief and created greeting cards for local seniors
Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool Brambleton on Cotton Grass Way in Ashburn recently held a food drive and donated more than 220 pounds of food to Loudoun Hunger Relief. The donations will help feed local children in need. In addition, students donated more than 80 handwritten cards to bring joy to seniors at the Shenandoah Center nursing home. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to the community, especially during the holiday season
Loudoun Hunger Relief, formerly Loudoun Interfaith Relief, is the largest food pantry in Loudoun County. Last year, Loudoun Hunger Relief provided 1.7 million pounds of food to more than 8,000 individuals. Forty percent of those served are children. Loudoun Hunger Relief distributes food to families six days a week, year-round and supplied thousands of pounds of emergency preparedness food to help families shelter in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
