Copper Wiring Stolen from Ashburn Construction Site
Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity on construction sites to thwart an increasing number of reported thefts in the area.

Unknown subject(s) reportedly removed installed copper wiring from a construction site at the 45800 block of Haleybird Drive in Sterling.
The incident occurred Tuesday, Oct. 7 around 3 p.m.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says construction site thefts are becoming an alarmingly common trend in the region. In the first two months of 2014, there were 29 reported larcenies from construction sites.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to report any suspicious activity seen at construction sites, particularly after hours. Items commonly targeted by the thieves include tools, building materials and copper. The thieves typically enter unfinished homes where materials and appliances are often left unsecured.
