Dulles Airport TSA Officers to Wear Pink Gloves in October
Some Dulles Airport TSA officers are wearing pink gloves this month to show their support for the fight against breast cancer.
DULLES, VA — Some Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at Washington Dulles International Airport have decided to don pink gloves during the month of October to show their support in the fight against breast cancer, according to a TSA announcement.
Throughout October, which has been designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, TSA officers have the option of sporting pink instead of blue gloves while performing their regular daily screening functions.
Some have opted to make a fashion statement by wearing one blue glove and one pink glove, according to the TSA.

The pink gloves are not mandatory and the blue gloves typically worn by the TSA officers also will be available during the month of October. The pinks are a non-latex glove, called a nitrile glove, similar to their blue counterparts, which does not affect officers or passengers who may suffer from allergic reactions to latex.
TSA officers at Washington Dulles International Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Baltimore Washington International-Thurgood Marshall Airports are participating in the pink glove Breast Cancer Awareness program.
