Firefighters Put Out House Fire in Loudoun County: PHOTOS

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Multiple firefighter and EMS units from Sterling Volunteer Fire Company, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad, Loudoun County Fire and Rescue and Ashburn Volunteer Fire Rescue Department - AVFRD were in action on Wednesday evening, Oct. 5, 2016 responding to a house fire in Sterling.
According to a Sterling Volunteer Fire Company Facebook post, crews began to arrive around 8:20 p.m. to the house located on Augusta and Backwater Drive in Sterling to find a garage on fire and began the fire attack.
A search confirmed that all occupants were out of the house. Fire had spread through the first floor and was working its way up to the 2nd floor and attic area.

Units spent the next 30 or more minutes extinguishing fire in the walls and attic and working to prevent smoke and water damage elsewhere in the home.
All fire was extinguished and units were held for extension overhaul, according to AVFRD.

The scene was eventually turned over to the Fire Marshal's office for investigation, Sterling VFC posted.
