"Freaky Friday: A New Musical" at Belmont Ridge Middle School

Leesburg, Va., -- Belmont Ridge Middle School’s RiverHawk Productions will bring audiences an engaging and hysterically funny story of role reversal as it presents Freaky Friday: A New Musical on March 29, 30 and 31, and April 4, 5 and 6.

Join Katherine, an overworked mother of two, and her daughter Ellie for “Just One Day” of magical Disney fun! When these two feuding parties accidentally switch bodies the night before Katherine’s wedding, it's a race against time to set things right before the ceremony. But by
spending a day in each other's shoes, Katherine and Ellie learn to appreciate each other’s struggles and find self-acceptance. Follow along as the two attempt to return to their original bodies before the big night!

“We are so excited for Freaky Friday for spring 2019,” says Jason Paul Augustowski, RiverHawk’s Executive Director/Choreographer. “Once again, the students are working extremely hard to nail down three-and four-part harmonies while engaging in difficult choreography. This brand new show offers a small jazz band in the pit and the most realistic set we’ve ever created. We cannot wait to share this story about adults and children better understanding one another.” The direction team is rounded out by Jill Kerr (vocals), Mike Jones (orchestra/jazz band) and Sabrina Rice (student director).

In addition to the fun score, outstanding choreography, and the unrivaled talent of more than 130 cast, crew and orchestra members, Freaky Friday will feature great costumes, professionally designed sets, lighting and sound effects from our state-of-the-art boards. This is a production
