Free Pet Adoptions for Veterans Nov. 12-13 in Loudoun

All pet adoption fees will be waived for veterans and active duty military over Veterans Day Weekend at Loudoun County Animal Services.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS) will waive all pet adoption fees for veterans and active duty military over Veterans Day Weekend on Nov. 12-13, according to a LCAS announcement.

“We want to show our appreciation for the heroes of our country,” said Nicole Falceto, Community Relations Manager for LCAS. “They have given so much for our nation and we hope this promotion can help unite homeless pets and loving families.”

Waived fee adoptions for veterans and military members applies at the Loudoun County Animal Shelter, 39820 Charles Town Pike, Waterford, as well as for adoptions from the shelter’s Mobile Adoption Bus. The bus will travel to two locations over the weekend:

  • Saturday, November 12: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Holiday Bazaar, 38174 W. Colonial Highway, Hamilton
  • Sunday, November 13: 12 noon to 3:00 p.m., Winery 32, 15066 Limestone School Road, Leesburg

All dogs and cats adopted from LCAS are spayed or neutered, have age appropriate vaccinations, and leave with a registered microchip to help them reunite with their family if they are ever lost.

The shelter frequently has other pets available for adoption including hamsters, guinea pigs, reptiles, rabbits, other small pets and livestock. A current listing of available pets can be found online at www.loudoun.gov/animals. The standard adoption screening process still applies during this promotion and most adoptions can be completed on the same day.

In observance of Veterans Day, Loudoun County Animal Services will be closed Friday, November 11, 2016. The shelter will reopen for normal business and adoptions on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Adoption hours on Saturday and Sunday are 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A full listing of operating hours is available at www.loudoun.gov/animals.
