Cheer Team Invites Local Kids to Cheer for Washington Wizards

Now forming youth cheer team to perform at a Washington Wizards Basketball Game

Ashburn, VA December 27, 2018 - More Than Cheer-Loudoun has partnered with the Washington Wizards to perform at an upcoming home game in early February.

More Than Cheer aims to take kids from sitting on the sidelines to cheering on court, on the field, and on the stage. This December the program relaunched in Ashburn and Purcellville to help give current and prospective cheerleaders the tools they need to level up and get more experience opportunities.

"Our first year was a lot of fun but we found ways we could take the program to the next level and one of those ways was to create more local performance opportunities for our athletes. When the Wizards approached us with this opportunity it seemed like the perfect fit."

The MTC performance team is More Than Cheer’s comprehensive cheer program where kids have the opportunity to learn new cheer & dance skills that they showcase to the community at local events, parades, and competitions. The team is coached and run by both current and alumni college and NFL Professional Cheerleaders, who place a high-value on good character, showmanship and leadership development. Practices are held once per week up and includes an hour of tumbling instruction.
