Loudoun County Public Schools Attendance Zone Hearing Set for Oct. 18

The public is invited to a series of meetings to facilitate the review of some secondary school attendance zones in Loudoun County.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Do you want to provide your input and/or learn about the review process for the current secondary school attendance zones in Loudoun County? The Loudoun County School Board has scheduled a series of meetings to facilitate the review of some secondary school attendance zones, according to a Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) announcement.

On Tuesday, October 18, 2016, the School Board will hold a public hearing to begin the review of area middle and high school attendance zones. Staff will also provide an overview of the attendance zone change process. The meeting will be held at the LCPS Administration Building, 21000 Education Court in Ashburn, and begin at 6:30 p.m.

Persons wishing to speak at the hearing are encouraged to sign up in advance by utilizing the online public hearing sign-up link (http://lcps.org/PublicSpeakerOnlineSignUpForm, located on the ‘Planning/School Attendance Zones’ page on the LCPS website) or by calling LCPS Planning Services at 571.252.1050, by 4 p.m. on October 18. Speakers may also sign up in person at the public hearing, between 6:00 and 6:25 p.m.

All attendance zone information and data, as it becomes available (including potential attendance zones being considered or reviewed by the School Board), will be accessible on the LCPS website (www.lcps.org) utilize the ‘Planning/School Attendance Zones’ quick link located in the lower right portion of the LCPS homepage, according to LCPS.

Should translation services be needed or if due to a disability, assistance is needed to enable you to participate meaningfully in the attendance zone meetings, please contact LCPS Department of Planning Services at 571-252-1050 at least five (5) working days prior to the meeting date.
