LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Essential workers in Phase 1c are now eligible for the coronavirus vaccine in Loudoun County. Phase 1c includes food service workers, barbers, construction workers, and waste removal workers.

The Loudoun County Health Department announced the expanded eligibility in a news release on Monday morning. The county has already vaccinated more than 100,000 people in Phase 1a and 1b of the state's vaccine rollout plan, and more than 50,000 people in the county are fully vaccinated.

Dr. David Goodfriend is Loudoun County's health director. "We are pleased that we’ve been able to offer appointments for nearly all of those who had pre-registered in the Phase 1a and 1b priority groups, which makes this expansion to include the 1c group possible now," Dr. Goodfriend said in a news release.

"Any essential workers who have not yet submitted the pre-registration form online or by phone should do so now so that you can receive an invitation for a vaccination appointment within the next week or two," Dr. Goodfriend said. The Loudoun County Health Department is currently vaccinating people who pre-registered on March 31, according to their most recent update.
