Loudoun Fall for the Book Library Events Set for Sept. 24-29
7 authors will read from their works at libraries in Loudoun County as part of the 2016 Fall for the Book festival on Sept. 24 – 29.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – Seven authors will read from their works as part of the 2016 Fall for the Book Festival, Sept. 24 – 29. The celebration connects readers and authors, offering book lovers the chance to meet and greet their favorite writers.
What began as a two-day literary event in 1999, organized by George Mason University and the City of Fairfax, has expanded into a multiple-venue, regional festival connecting people from diverse backgrounds and interests.
Loudoun County Public Library hosts the festival in Loudoun County. Books will be available for purchase at each event, courtesy of Second Chapter Books of Middleburg.

Here's the schedule of author appearances:
- Saturday, Sept. 24, 2 p.m., Cascades Library: Agatha-nominated and Amazon best-selling author Edith Maxwell will discuss her latest historical mystery, Delivering the Truth, about Quaker midwife sleuth, Rose Carroll.

- Sunday, Sept. 25, 2 p.m., Cascades Library: Bill Beverly will read from his debut book, Dodgers, a coming-of-age story focused on a 15-year-old gang member in South Central Los Angeles. The winners of the Write On! Contest, sponsored by the Loudoun Library Foundation, will also be honored at this event.

- Monday, Sept. 26, 7 p.m., Rust Library: Bestselling authors Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie will discuss their latest book, America's First Daughter. This compelling and richly researched novel tells the fascinating untold story of Thomas Jefferson's eldest daughter, Martha "Patsy" Jefferson Randolph.


- Tuesday, Sept. 27, 7 p.m., Gum Spring Library: In Walking on the Wild Side: Long-Distance Hiking on the Appalachian Trail, sociologist Kristi M. Fondren traces the stories of 46 men and women who set out to conquer America’s most well-known, and arguably most social, long-distance hiking trail.

- Wednesday, Sept. 28, 6 p.m., Gum Spring Library: Teens are invited for pizza and a chat at on with award-winning author Anne Blankman. She’ll discuss her latest Young Adult book: Traitor Angels, a romantic historical adventure.

- Thursday, Sept. 29, Cascades Library, 7 p.m.: Sadequa Johnson will discuss her new novel Second House from the Corner, an unforgettable tale of love, loss, rediscovery and growing pains of marriage. Johnson's debut novel, Love in a Carry-On Bag (2012) was the recipient of the 2012 USA Best Book Award for African-American fiction.
