Loudoun Teacher Charged With Public Drunkenness At School

A Loudoun County school teacher at J. Michael Lunsford Middle School was charged with being drunk in public Monday, according to the LCSO.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A Loudoun County Public School teacher at J. Michael Lunsford Middle School was charged with being drunk in public Monday, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies were notified by school personnel around 9:30 a.m. Monday that a teacher at the middle school, located in the Chantilly area of Loudoun County, was possibly intoxicated, the sheriff's office said.

Sarah A. Curzon, 45, of Fairfax was charged with being drunk in public and transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where she was released on her own recognizance.

Curzon, a business education teacher, has been teaching for three years at Lunsford Middle School, according to the school's website.

No students were at the school Monday. Curzon is on administrative leave pending an internal investigation, InsideNoVA reported.
