Man Unintentionally Shoots Co-Worker in Sterling

A man reportedly discharged a firearm and struck his co-worker as the two were preparing to commute to work together early Tuesday morning.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an unintentional shooting that took place Tuesday morning when one co-worker accidentally discharged a firearm and struck another co-worker while on their way to work.

Two co-workers met Tuesday morning to commute to work together around 4:29 a.m. at the corner of Maple Leaf Place and Tamarack Ridge Square in Sterling. According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, one of the adult males unintentionally discharged a firearm he was carrying, striking the other adult male who was standing outside the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital, where the victim was treated for what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. The case remains under investigation.
