Motorist Arrested After Police Chase in Sterling: LCSO

With Sheriff's Deputies in pursuit, a motorist hit a trailer and a van and then drove over police stop sticks before being forced to stop.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — With law enforcement in pursuit, a Sterling motorist hit a parked trailer and a minivan and then drove over police stop sticks before being forced to stop the vehicle, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO).

Deputies say that LCSO attempted to stop the driver of vehicle who was traveling without headlights on Nov. 20 at 2:11 a.m. in the area of Route 7 and Potomac View Road.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop.

Deputies deployed stop sticks the vehicle came to rest after striking a parked trailer and vehicle.

The driver failed to follow commands and continued to attempt to drive off.

Deputies were able to stop the vehicle at Church Road and Cascades Parkway.

The driver was identified as Deborah De Jesus-Gonzalez, 29, of Sterling, Va.

Gonzalez was arrested and charged with three counts of Hit & Run, Driving under the Influence of
Alcohol, Felony Eluding Police, and Driving without Headlights.

She was released from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a personal recognizance bond, according to the LCSO.
