STERLING, VA—Following a Friday to forget, Northern Virginia's weekend weather is expected to be relatively warm and sometimes sunny. That's the word from the National Weather Service and other area forecasting outlets. Once the light rain finally moves out early Saturday, the remainder of the day will be something of a tug-of-war between clouds and sun.

As for Sunday, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang: "Sunshine is most persistent early in the day, and clouds (should be) increasing with time. A shower is possible in the evening. Temperatures rise to near and above 70."
