Northern Virginia Weather: Hazardous Thanksgiving Outlook

STERLING, VA—Thanksgiving Eve is but a biting cold sample of what to expect Thanksgiving Day for folks in the Northern Virginia area—and it gets worse. That's the word from the National Weather Service and other area forecasting outlets.

In fact, the NWS has issued a hazardous weather outlook: "The coldest air mass since last February is expected to arrive (Thursday night). Wind chills will be in the teens and 20s late tonight." After that, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang, "an Arctic blast (will hold) D.C.-area wind chills in the teens and 20s for Thanksgiving Day. The cold air gradually eases Friday into the weekend."
