STERLING, VA—Weird is the word for Northern Virginia weekend's weather outlook, according to the National Weather Service and other area forecasting outlets. Saturday is expected to be plenty warm, with highs in the mid 70s, but sunshine likely will be scant. It should be a good day for kites, though, with considerable wind in the offing.

Some showers and perhaps a rumble are likely in the morning, then ending midday into afternoon, with some clearing afterward. Daytime highs will range from about 53 to 60, with a gusty northwest breeze that will make it feel on the chilly side."
