Northern Virginia Weekend Weather: Scant Chance Of Sunburn
Northern Virginia's weekend weather forecast probably won't require a lot of sunscreen, according to the National Weather Serivce.
STERLING, VA — When the Memorial Day weekend cooperates weather-wise, it serves as a really cool unofficial kickoff to summer. When it doesn't, well that's more or less what we're looking at this weekend in the Northern Virginia area, according to the local branch of the National Weather Service.
Saturday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain. Ditto for Sunday, except that rain is a 50-50 proposition. And Memorial Day? A little better, with partly sunny skies but still with a 40 percent chance of rain. All three days, though, the temperature should reach near 80 degrees.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Sunday: A slight chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Light and variable wind becoming southeast 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
