Pedestrian Struck at Lowes Island Blvd. Crosswalk
A driver faces reckless driving charges after reportedly striking a pedestrian at a Lowes Island Boulevard intersection Tuesday morning.

A pedestrian sustained non-life threatening injuries after being struck at the intersection of Lowes Island Boulevard and Saulty Drive in Sterling Tuesday morning.
The driver of a 2002 Nissan Maxima was traveling southbound on Lowes Island Boulevard when a Sterling man crossed the road in the marked crosswalk on the south side of the intersection.
The driver of the Maxima proceeded into the left lane and struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian was transported to Inova Fairfas Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The incident occurred Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 8:04 a.m.
An investigation determined that alcohol and cellphone use were not factors in the crash. The driver of the vehicle was later charged with reckless driving.
