Reported Bike Theft Followed by Suspicious Event in Sterling
An 11-year-old whose bike was reportedly stolen was later approached by a man who offered to give him and his friends a skateboard.

An 11-year-old who left his bicycle unattended outside a fast food restaurant returned to find the bike was missing.
After he and two friends began walking home, a male in a stopped vehicle in the right lane called the boys over and talked to the boys about giving them a skateboard. The three reportedly left the area without further contact from the driver, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred Friday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. near the intersection of Sterling Boulevard and W. Maple Avenue in Sterling.

The driver was described as a white, possibly Hispanic, male in his mid-30s with a short mustache. The car was described as a small white vehicle.
