Saturday Shooting In Loudoun Leads To Arrest: Police

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has a suspect in custody after a shooting in Sterling on Saturday hospitalized one man.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A man is in custody for his role in a shooting on Saturday in Loudoun County, according to police. The accused shooter, Antonio Fernandez of Sterling, was arrested on Saturday evening.

At 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office received a call about a man suffering from a gunshot wound on Commerce Street near E. Holly Avenue. When they arrived on the scene, police established a perimeter and identified Fernandez as a suspect in the shooting, according to a release from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Police said Fernandez and the victim knew each other.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He is listed in stable condition, according to authorities.

Fernandez is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. He is charged with aggravated malicious wounding and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
