Shooting Draws Attempted Murder Charge In Sterling: LCSO

A Springfield man was charged with attempted murder after a shooting early Thursday in Loudoun County, according to police.

STERLING, VA — A Springfield man was charged with attempted murder after shooting at an occupied home in the area of Sugarland Square Court early Thursday, July 25, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Mike Truong, 22, also was charged with two counts of shooting at an occupied building and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Shortly before 2 a.m., police responded to the area for reported gunfire. A woman said an acquaintance — Truong — was shooting at her house while she and five other people were inside. The bullets actually entered two homes but no injuries were reported.

Truong fled in a vehicle but was found shortly thereafter in the area of Route 7 near Dranesville Road. He was arrested without incident, and a gun was found in the vehicle. He's being held without bond.
